‘SEM’ stands for ‘Search Engine Marketing’ which is the process of utilising the search engines’ Pay Per Click (PPC) based advertising platforms.
Which Package is Right for Me?
The package you choose depends on your advertising budget. There’s no magic number for your advertising budget but there are two main factors to consider;
- Cost per click (CPC) – with this model you pay when your ad receives a click. Therefore, the higher your advertising budget, the more clicks you’ll get through to your website
- Optimisation – in order to optimise your campaign we need a certain amount of data to run statistically significant tests. The higher your budget the quicker we’ll be able to optimise your campaign
Total Cost = Advertising Spend + Management Fee
Your advertising budget is the limit we set for your campaign each month. The budget limits your advertising spend.
The advertising spend is the amount you actually spend on advertising. The advertising spend is paid directly to the search engine via the credit card that you have on file with them. This will be configured as part of the setup of your campaign.
The management fee is the amount you pay to us to manage your campaign.
Therefore, the total monthly cost of your SEM campaign is the monthly advertising spend plus our monthly management fee.
For small businesses attempting to generate leads from the SEM campaign, a landing page is generally recommended. A landing page is a separate page on your website with a similar look and feel to the rest of your site but is designed to encourage the visitor to take a specific action, usually call you or submit a form to you with their lead details. The use of a landing page can improve the performance of your campaign significantly.
Before we get started with your campaign we’ll advise you whether we think you need a landing page or not and quote the cost of the landing page if required. This will be a once off cost at the start of the campaign.
At the end of each month you’ll receive a Search Engine Marketing performance report. This will include information about your;
- Number of leads generated*
- Traffic received
- Cost per lead
*We’ll use a tracked phone number to measure how many phone leads were generated each month
