Content creation is an important part of SEO in general and especially the White Hat SEO strategy that we recommend. The mission of search engines is to return the best webpages for a given query and they do this by looking at the website’s content and scoring it based on how useful, interesting, authoritative and trustworthy it is and what its actually about.
The goal is to create content for your website that the search engines will judge to be interesting, useful and trustworthy and also relevant to the types of queries that your customers are likely to make when searching for your products and services. They make this judgement using a complicated and secret process which includes links and social shares as primary indicators.
Content creation fits into our SEO process in two different ways;
- Website optimisation – this includes recommendations about what kind of content each page should have on it and what keywords to use within that content
- Ongoing SEO – this involves creating interesting and useful content that will attract links and social shares
Content Marketing & Distribution
Unfortunately you can’t just create great content and people will find it automatically, you have to do work to get it out into the market. This is called content marketing or content distribution.
The idea is to get your content in front of the people who have the ability to link to it (such as bloggers) and share it (such as those with social network accounts). These people tend to gather in certain locations such as online communities or industry news sites so we can try and target them there or use other techniques to get your content in front of the right people.
Content marketing and distribution is included in the Ongoing SEO phase of our SEO process.
